Live Water

The water is alive
it writhes in pain
as it twist and turns
along the bends
of the river floor
jagged rocks
break its pattern
sending ripples across the
water, ever flowing
down the stream

Hi BP, this is good! It surely does hurt me to twist and turn even from sitting in the car.
Doing that across rocks would be awful, I would make the water ripple big time.
Keep it up, I read your others too. It would take me a long time to pick a favorite, I like them all!
"listening to the nothing
washing in your ears" wouldn't be very comforting to me; having my "mind pounce upon [my] boredom" would be some positive action to liven things up a little. :-)

How clever to think of water as writhing in pain...great read!

ah, the tortured spirit of the river -- no wonder it sometimes bursts through its banks and floods the plains. Beautiful imagry.

Living water feels pain. The scraping of rock beds on her belly But the flow is uninterrupted. Lovely.

a fierce river flowing... i once found myself at the mouth of the columbia river in canada... we had planned on camping and arrived at night... just over the hill and down a few feet the river flowed in a trickle softly... later further down it was just as you say... beautiful
